柴油发电机房的通风问题是机房设计中要特别注意解决的问题，特别是机房位于地下室时更要处理好，否则会直接影响柴油机发电机组的运行。机组的排风一般应设热风管道有组织地进行，不宜让柴油机散热器把热量散在机房内，再由排风机抽出。机房内要有足够的新风补充。柴油机在运行时，机房的换气量应等于或大于柴油机燃烧所需新风量与维持机房室温所需新风量之和。维持室温所需新风量由下式计算：C=0.078PT式中：C--需要的新风量（m3/s）P--柴油机额定功率（kW）T--机房温升（°C）。

柴油发电机房一般应用三种接地：①工作接地：发电机中性点接地；②保护接地：电气设备正常不带电的金属外壳接地；③防静电接地：燃油系统的设备及管道接地。接地可以与建筑物的地采用联合接地的方式。

当机房设在高层建筑内时，日用油箱应设专用房间，用防火墙与柴油发电机隔开。尽量选用质量较好的标准型油箱，密封性好，不漏油，油箱应配有出油口，回油口、注油口、放油口、溢油口、油位显示计，容积按机组连续工作12小时用油量选择为妥。油箱密封性致关重要，否则漏油是令维护人员很头痛的事。油雾过大会腐蚀橡胶、金属等元件，而且还具有一定的危险性；油雾和灰尘粘附在机组及设备表面，很难清洁。

The volume shall be selected according to the oil consumption of the unit for 12 hours. The tightness of the oil tank is important, otherwise oil leakage is a headache for maintenance personnel. Excessive oil mist will corrode rubber, metal and other components, and it also has a certain risk; Oil mist and dust adhere to the surface of the unit and equipment, which is difficult to clean.
